Shirak is the Winner of the 2nd Mobile Lab Competition / November 25, 2005

“Harmony” Information Technologies and Education Development Fund having undertaken the implementation of the Mobile Lab project announced an Armenia-wide competition for the next phase of the Mobile Lab project in September in order to extend computer trainings and Internet access to a pool of other 20-30 remote communities. Applications were received from the 7 regions of Armenia, namely Aragatsotn, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Syunik, Shirak and Vayots Dzor. A Selection Board consisting of the representatives of the US Embassy to Armenia, the RA Ministry of Education and Science, Project Harmony-Armenia, and “Harmony” Fund was established to perform the evaluation of the applications and to identify the winner. The finalized scores of the evaluations revealed that the application submitted by Shirak region received the highest scores. Thus, Shirak region has been identified as the winner of the second Mobile Lab competition and will host the Mobile Lab in its communities throughout the course of the coming year.
An official opening ceremony of the Mobile Lab in Shirak region is planned for the 29th of November at 12:30 at the Independence Square of Gyumri.
