Basic Facts

“Harmony” Foundation is committed to providing high quality connection lines and high bandwidth Internet connection to schools in communities throughout Armenia. The intra-Armenian network bandwidth is 2048Kb/s for upload and download. The ASCP schools network currently has a dedicated 2.5 Mbps download and 512 Kbps upload Internet channel.

In building and maintaining a consistent school network, “Harmony” Foundation uses various methods of interconnection: radio modem devices, E1 fiber-optic lines, DSL technology over leased lines, and regular leased line connections. The main connectivity option for the ASCP network nodes (schools) is radio-modem lines, using Cisco Aironet's 11Mbps devices that provide stable, quality connection. "Harmony" Foundation continually reevaluates connectivity options to provide improvements in Internet connection.

Internet connection to remote regions is solved by using 2Mbps E1 fiber-optic lines where available. 90 schools from Lori, Shirak and Syunik regions are connected to the ASCP network via fiber-optic lines.
