Technology and Education for All"Harmony" Information Technologies and Education Development Foundation was established in the Republic of Armenia in June 2005. The central goal of the Foundation is the advancement of current educational and technological reform efforts and the preservation and sustainable development of the unique interschool network in Armenia created within the framework of Armenia School Connectivity Program (ASCP). The Foundation is committed to maintaining the unique technical infrastructure created within the framework of ASCP, enhancing the application of ICT resources in the educational process, providing support to Armenian educators in the development and application of resources that complement the Armenian curriculum through ICT, as well as providing access for professional development, networking, and collaboration opportunities. "Harmony" Foundation has been basically formed from the Technical department staff of Project Harmony-Armenia that has been working on the implementation of ASCP in Armenia since 2001 and has extensive experience in the spheres of education and ICT. "Harmony" Foundation has rich human resources specialized in ICT both in its Yerevan office and throughout all regions. "Harmony" Foundation is subcontracted by Project Harmony-Armenia to implement the technical components of the ASCP, funded by the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by Project Harmony. "Harmony" Foundation reaches out for supporting schools, educators, pupils, and communities in the application of ICT as an educational tool. "Harmony" Foundation has undertaken the implementation of the 3rd cycle of Mobile Lab project, which allows to bring Internet access and provide comprehensive training to the educators and community members of rural and remote communities cut from any means of communication. The first two cycles of Mobile Lab pilot project have been implemented with great success. More than 20 remote villages between Vardenis and Chambarak, more than 600 community members have been involved and were the beneficiaries of the project. In the nearest future, the Foundation plans on installing and utilizing Internet satellite stations in different regions of Armenia, particularly in the sites that have been recognized as especially challenging in terms of providing Internet access. "Harmony" Foundation develops and facilitates Basic, Web design, and Network Administration trainings of site staff; those trainings enable site staff to maintain school Internet Computer Centers, create school websites and develop Armenian language web resources. Carrying out testing, evaluation, and monitoring, "Harmony" Foundation gets the real picture of the productivity and measurable outcomes of the trainings. "Harmony" Foundation actively collaborates and negotiates with the RA Government in the direction of sustainability and joint administration of the Program. "Harmony" Foundation also works towards establishing connections with potential clients and donor organizations for further expansion of the Program, which will allow integrating new schools into the network, fostering further integration of technology into education, as well as enlarging the scope of work and target groups. We work towards bringing technology into education.
